What is the Tall Ships Atlantic Challenge?
The Tall Ships races are organised by Sail Training International.
They are an annual event in which one UK port hosts the Tall Ships. The Races vary each year between ports on different sides of The North Sea, The English Channel, The Irish Sea and also the Atlantic Ocean.

Belfast has been chosen as the destination for the final leg of the 2009
Atlantic Challenge Tall Ships Race. The race commences in Vigo, Spain on May 3rd from where the ships sail to Belfast via Tenerife, Bermuda, Charleston USA, Boston USA and Halifax Canada.
When is it?
Thursday 13th to Sunday 16th August 2009 in Belfast.
There is expected to be around 20 Tall Ships arriving in Belfast Quays for the four days. The official activities in Belfast have been organised by Belfast City Council.
